Gallons to Litres: Water Tanker Conversion Chart

By the Dubai Water Tankers team · Published · Updated

How many litres is 2,500 gallons?

2,500 US gallons is about 9,464 litres, or 9.46 cubic metres. If the gallons are imperial, 2,500 gallons is about 11,365 litres. Dubai water tanker sizes are normally quoted in US gallons, where one gallon equals 3.785 litres; an imperial gallon is 4.546 litres. Always ask which gallon a quote uses.

  • 1 US gallon = 3.785 L; 1 imperial gallon = 4.546 L
  • 2,500 US gal ≈ 9,464 L ≈ 9.46 m³
  • 1 m³ = 1,000 L ≈ 264 US gal ≈ 220 imperial gal
  • Our quotes are always in US gallons

The two gallons

  • US gallon = 3.785411784 litres (the standard definition).
  • Imperial gallon = 4.54609 litres.

The imperial gallon is about 20% bigger. Water tanker sizes in Dubai are usually quoted in US gallons, but some older villa drawings and older DEWA bills used imperial gallons. Mixing them up is the most common reason an order doesn’t match a tank.
