1,000 vs 2,500 vs 5,000 Gallons: Which Water Tanker Do You Need?

By the Dubai Water Tankers team · Published · Updated

Which water tanker size do I need in Dubai?

Match the load to what your tank can take and what the truck can reach. Small drops of 200–1,000 gallons suit top-ups, car washes and site offices; 2,500 gallons (about 9,464 litres) fills most villa tanks and pool loads; 5,000–10,000 gallons suits buildings, labour camps and big sites with room for a large truck.

  • 200–1,000 gal: top-ups, small tanks, car washes
  • 2,500 gal ≈ 9,464 L: villa tanks, pool loads
  • 5,000–10,000 gal: buildings, camps, big sites
  • Bigger trucks need more turning and parking space

Two questions decide the size

  1. How much can your tank take right now? Never order more than the empty space in your tank. The driver stops when it’s full.
  2. What truck can reach your tank? A 10,000-gallon truck needs a lot more room than a small one. In a villa community, narrow streets, gate height and parking rules often decide it.

Our own trucks deliver 200 to 2,500 gallons of sweet water. 5,000 and 10,000-gallon loads, and all salt water, are arranged through partner tankers.

By customer type

Villas

Most villa underground tanks take a 2,500-gallon load when empty, sometimes less. For a part-empty tank, a 1,000-gallon top-up may be all you need. Work it out with villa water tank sizes.

Pools

Use 2,500-gallon loads and divide the pool volume in m³ by 9.46. See how many tankers to fill a pool.

Construction sites

Villa plots usually take 2,500 gallons of sweet water. Big sites take 5,000–10,000 gallons, plus salt water for compaction and dust. See construction site water planning.

Buildings and camps

Large tanks are filled fastest with 5,000 or 10,000-gallon loads, if the truck can park near the inlet. If not, several 2,500-gallon trips may be quicker overall. See building water tank supply.

Car washes and small businesses

Small daily drops of 200–1,000 gallons on a fixed morning route. See small water tanker.

Bigger isn’t always cheaper

A larger load usually costs less per gallon, but only if you can use it all. Two common mistakes:

  • Ordering 5,000 gallons for a 2,500-gallon tank. Half the load can’t be delivered.
  • Ordering a large truck for a narrow street. It can’t get close, the hose won’t reach, and the job is cancelled or delayed.

Not sure?

Send us a photo of your tank opening with a tape measure, or the tank’s size from your drawings, plus a location pin. We’ll suggest the right load. See all sizes on water tanker sizes and conversions in the gallons to litres chart.
